First Chinese, now Pakistani degrees derecognized; Know the reason for India's action on two neighboring countries
The University Grant Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have advised Indian students not to go to Pakistan for higher education in their new advisory.
As per the recent regulations, If you are an Indian student and planning to study abroad, keep Pakistan out of your list. In fact, the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have advised Indian students not to go to Pakistan for higher education in their new advisory.
According to this advisory, any degree obtained from Pakistan will not be valid in India nor will this degree be considered eligible for getting a job in India. Last month, the government also cautioned those pursuing higher education in China.
In fact, due to China's Corona restrictions, thousands of Indian students are unable to return to China and their studies are hanging in the balance. Also, due to the recent war with Russia, the studies of thousands of Indian students returning to the country have also been affected. This decision of the government is linked to these reasons.
The impact of the government's cancellation of recognition of degrees obtained from Pakistan will mainly affect Kashmiri students. Actually, most of India's students in Pakistan are from Kashmir.
Most of the students from Jammu and Kashmir go to Pakistan to study. Pakistan has also used it to run its agenda. In 2020, Pakistan offered 1600 scholarships for Kashmiri students in its colleges. Then the security agencies feared that Indian students in Pakistan could be easily radicalized. There are 6% reservations for Kashmiri students in PoK colleges as well as some seats in Pakistani colleges.
