FIFA World Cup: Japan beat Germany 2-1 in the Group E match
Hosts Qatar were defeated 0-2 in the first match of the tournament. This was the first defeat in the history of the Football World Cup by a host team in the first match. On Wednesday, Japan surprised Germany by defeating Germany 2-1 in the Group E match (Germany vs Japan) at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. After Saudi Arabia's victory over Argentina, there is another big upset in Qatar World Cup. Germany scored the first goal by getting a penalty in the 33rd minute. But making a spectacular comeback in the second half, Japan first equalized and then scored another goal in the 83rd minute to take the lead, which they continued till the final whistle. This is a big blow for the four-time champion team after Ilkay Gundogan started the scoring in the match.
