Delhi government extended the free ration scheme for three months, now ration will be available till 30 September

Delhi government has extended the last date of free ration scheme till 30 September. Amid various issues raised during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the Delhi government has decided to increase the free ration scheme, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said during a press briefing. In addition, keeping in mind the weather of the national capital and the convenience of the people, electric and AC buses have been procured. Regarding the buses, the CM said that the government has agreed to buy 1950 more buses.
This decision taken by the Kejriwal government will benefit more than 72.77 lakh people. At the same time, under the National Food Security Act 2013, 5 kg of food grains are distributed free of cost every month to the needy and poor. These needy people include migrant labourers, workers working in the unorganized sectors, construction workers, domestic workers and people without ration cards.
Kejriwal said that an announcement was also made to do urban farming in the budget. Under this, people will be taught to grow fruits and vegetables at home. He further informed that urban farming has been divided into two parts. First those who want to adopt it for their needs and secondly those people who want to adopt it for business.
