Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia seems to be in trouble. The CBI has summoned him on Monday in the Excise scam case. An official gave this information on Sunday. Delhi Deputy CM and AAP leader Manish Sisodia tweeted that he has been summoned by the CBI to its headquarters at 11 am on Monday, October 17. He tweeted that he will go there and give full cooperation.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has questioned several people including Indo Spirits owner Sameer Mahendru, Amit Arora, director of Buddy Retail Pvt Ltd in Gurugram and Mutha Gautam, managing director of India Ahead News, in the case. The agency has also arrested AAP activist Vijay Nair and former CEO of entertainment and event management company Only Much Louder and Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally, officials said.
The CBI had registered an FIR against Sisodia and 14 others in a special court here in August under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 477A (falsification of record), and the Prevention of Corruption Act. Section 7, which deals with taking undue advantage to influence any public servant by corrupt or illegal means or by the use of personal influence.
