Deepika Kumari crowned world number 1 archer after winning 3 gold medals at World Cup
She is hoping to clinch medals in Tokyo because India does not have any Olympic medals in archery. Deepika is the country's only female archery representative in the forthcoming Tokyo Olympics.
On Sunday, Deepika Kumari won three gold medals at the Archery World Cup in Paris, completing an incredible and unparalleled whitewash for India in the tournament and regained her world number one ranking.
Deepika arrived at the World Cup stage 3 in Paris and stormed her way to three gold medals in approximately five hours. She won all three of the potential gold medals, completing a clean sweep of the recurve division.
"This is the first time I've won all three medals in a World Cup. I'm really happy but at the same time, I've to continue improving as we have some very, very important competitions lined up," said the Ranchi archer.
The 27-year-old archer first won the women's recurve team gold alongside Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari in a convincing win against Mexico.
She subsequently teamed up with her spouse Atanu Das, and the pairing rallied from a 0-2 deficit to defeat the Netherlands' Sjef van den Berg and Gabriela Schloesser 5-3 for gold.
Deepika next defeated 17th seed Russian Elena Osipova 6-0 to complete a flawless three-for-three performance in the recurve women's division, earning her fourth solo World Cup gold medal.

Post winning her three gold medals she spoke about Tokyo Olympics, "It's very important. Our country, in archery, it doesn't have any Olympic medals. It's very important to win Olympic medals, so it's very important to me."
Deepika has to her name nine gold medals, a dozen silver medals and seven bronze medals from the World Cup.
