Covid 19 Updates : 2,451 new cases found in last 24 hours, 54 died

According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Friday, 2,451 new corona cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of corona cases in the country has increased to 4,30,52,425 while the active cases have increased to 14,241.

According to the data released by the Health Department, 54 corona infected patients have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who lost their lives due to corona in the country has increased to 5,22,116. The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the recovery rate of Covid-19 was recorded at 98.75 percent.

There has been an increase of 808 cases in the active Covid-19 caseload in a period of 24 hours. According to the ministry, the positivity rate was recorded at 0.55 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.47 percent. The number of people recovering from the infection increased to 4,25,16,068, while the death rate was recorded at 1.21 percent. Under the ongoing vaccination campaign against Corona in the country, so far more than 187.26 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been given to the people.

The country's COVID19 had exceeded 20 lakh on 7 August 2020, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It had surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and the one-crore mark on December 19. The country passed the milestone of 20 million on May 4 and 30 million on June 23 last year.
