The head of the WHO's Europe region, Dr. Hans Kluge, said that this region of Eastern Europe, which extends from Central Asia to the former Soviet Union, consists of 53 countries.
So far in these countries, more than 165 million people have been confirmed to be infected with the corona virus and 1.8 million people have died due to Covid , of which 25,000 have died in the last week.
Talking to the press in Russia, Kluge said about the increase in the Omicron variant of the corona virus, 'Today our focus is on the eastern part of the WHO's European region. In the last two weeks, the cases of Covid-19 have more than doubled in six countries of the region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Russian Federation and Ukraine).
