Coolie Box Office Day 6: Rajinikanth Beats Kamal Haasan’s Vikram Lifetime, Eyes Vijay’s Leo

Coolie Box Office Day 6: On 14 August, Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj starring Rajinikanth opened in theatres in a box office collision with War 2. Changes of collection In less than a week, the film has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Kamal Haasan film, Vikram at 418 crores worldwide collection.

Worldwide earnings of coolie

Based on trade website Sacnilk, Coolie grossed 255.80 crore income and a nett of 216 crore in India in its six-day of the run. The film had garnered ₹418 crore in total with collection of ₹162.20 crore abroad as of Tuesday. This making Coolie the second-highest-grossing film of Lokesh after all.

The filmmaker has the highest grosser to date with Vijay starrer Leo (2023) that collected ₹605.9 crore worldwide. Coolie has surpassed Vikram (2022) which had taken the second position with a global collection of 414.43 crores. Coolie is therefore the third-highest-grosser of Rajinikanth after 2.0 (2018) with a collection of 691 crores and Jailer (2023) with 604.5 crores.

Coolie got 403 crore on 5th day worldwide. Since the movie ditched the pace during the week it would be interesting to observe how it has managed to maintain and what the earnings of the first week will be.

About Coolie

Coolie is an independent film and not a part of the cinematic universe of Lokesh with the movies Kaithi, Vikram and Leo. It consists of a former coolie union leader (Deva (Rajinikanth)) who runs an offshoot dwelling place, where men of modest standing stay. The unforeseen death of his friend Rajasekhar (Sathyaraj) makes him come across the gangster Simon (Nagarjuna). Important roles in it were played by Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Upendra and Aamir Khan. It was both poorly and favorably reviewed at release.
