KC Venugopal is considered one of the close associates of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. He is also seen giving his suggestions in every strategy of the party. According to the information, there was an important meeting between Tharoor and Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and many Congress leaders were present during this. Shashi Tharoor has got the green signal from Sonia Gandhi to run for the post of Congress President. According to sources, Tharoor told Sonia Gandhi that he wanted to field his candidature for the post of party president. To this, Sonia said that everyone is free to contest elections.
With the election for the post of Congress President approaching, the demand for handing over the reins to Rahul Gandhi is increasing.
