The Air Force, Army and local youths have intensified the rescue operation to bring down 48 tourists who were stranded overnight in the ropeway of Trikut mountain. So far 16 people have been safely evacuated from the cabin, nearly 20 hours after the accident on Sunday evening.

After the rescue, eight people, including two women, were brought to the Sadar Hospital in Devghar by ambulance till around 2.30 pm.
The doctor examined the girl at Sadar Hospital. Doctor Sanjay Kumar told that the girl is a victim of dehydration and heat stroke. She is also suffering from a slight fever. Talking about the incident, the girl said that she was scared throughout the night.
At the same time, around two o'clock in the afternoon, four people were brought to the Sadar Hospital. These include a woman and three youths. Saurabh Das and Devang Jai Pal, including women Jhuma Pal, are residents of Malda district of Bengal, while lawyer Kumar Mahato is a resident of Darbhanga Singhwara in Bihar. All have been admitted to the hospital after first aid.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed deep grief over the accident caused by breaking of ropeway wire of Trikoot mountain in Deoghar. Talking to reporters at Ranchi airport before leaving for Sahibganj on Monday, he said that after this accident, relief and rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing. Efforts are being made by NDRF and rescue teams to rescue people safely.
