Chintan Shivir: Suggestion of 'One Nation, One Uniform' for police, special things of PM Modi in Chintan Shivir
PM Modi said that this Chintan Shivir of Home Ministers is the best example of cooperative federalism. Modi said that the states have to work together for the betterment of the country and at the same time the states can take inspiration from each other to learn good works and do it in their own state. The PM said that this is the spirit of the Constitution and this is our duty towards our citizens.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi in Chintan Shivir) today participated in a two-day contemplation camp of home ministers of the states in Surajkund, Haryana. The PM also addressed the Chintan Shivir through video conferencing. During this, the Prime Minister said that maintaining law and order is a round-the-clock task. But in order to do any work better, we have to continuously improve the processes. The PM said that under this we have to work together for internal security.
With this, the PM said that all the states should consider to bring "One Nation, One Uniform" for the police. He said that this process may take time, it may take 5, 50 or 100 years, but we should consider it.
While addressing the Chintan Shivir, PM Modi also raised the issue of Naxalism. The PM said that we have to defeat all forms of Naxalism. Modi said that Naxalism, whether with gun or with pen, will have to be cut off. The PM further said that now we have to use new techniques to stop cybercrime. Talking to the Home Ministers, the PM said that the states bordering other countries should use drone technology to stop arms and drugs smuggling.
