Chhath Puja 2021- Date, Shubh Muhurat, Puja Vidhi and Importance

Chhath Puja is one of the most important festivals of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh which is dedicated to Lord Surya. Chhath Puja fasting is observed by women to get blessings for the well-being and the happiness of the family. This festival lasts up to four days stats with Nahay Khay on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi Tithi of Kartika month and ends with Usha Arghya on Saptami.
The day one of Chhath Puja is Nahay Khay. The women who fast on this day, take a holy dip in Ganga on this day and consume only a single meal. This year it will fall on 8th November. The sunrise will take place at 6:46 am and the timings for sunset is 5:26. The second day of the Chhath festival is known as Kharna. Women observe a day-long fast from the sunrise to the sunset without water. The fast is broken after sunset by giving food to the Sun and Chhath Mata. Women start their Chhath fast from this day after taking Prasad. This day will be on 9th November and the sunset and sunrise timings are 06:39 am and 5:30 pm. The fourth and last day is known as Usha Arghta when Arghya is offered to the rising sun. the 36 hours long fast is broken after offering Arghya to the Sun.
