Bypoll results: AAP suffers defeat in Punjab, Akhilesh receives a setback in UP

The results of the by-elections held in three Lok Sabha seats and seven assembly seats will be declared by this evening. The seats for which the results have been declared so far include the seats of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.
Ghanshyam Lodhi of BJP has won by more than 40 thousand votes in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirhua of BJP defeated Dharmendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party in Azamgarh. The by-polls in Uttar Pradesh were held because Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and SP leader Azam Khan had resigned from their seats in Azamgarh and Rampur.
In Tripura, BJP has won three seats and Congress has got one seat here. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sah had to win this election to continue in office. The vote percentage in the Sangrur Lok Sabha by-election this time has been less as compared to the last several years. This year only 45.30 percent of people exercised their franchise. Whereas in the 2019 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the total voting percentage here was 72.44 and 76.71.
In Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party leader Durgesh Pathak has won the by-election from Rajendra Nagar's seat. He defeated his opponent by 11 thousand votes. The need for by-election in this seat was needed because from here Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha had gone to the Rajya Sabha. Because of this seats became vacant.
