BSF : Cases of bringing drugs, arms and ammunition from drones to the border increased
According to Director General Pankaj Kumar Singh, 215 sorties were carried out this year from Pakistan's Punjab region. Around 22 flights have been sighted in J&K. He said that this is a very serious problem. We don't have a solid solution yet. Drones have been bringing in narcotics, weapons, ammunition, fake currency and all kinds of things.
Cases of drones bringing drugs, arms and ammunition from Pakistan to the borders of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir have more than doubled in 2022. BSF is thinking of some effective way to stop this. These things were said by BSF Director General Pankaj Kumar Singh on Saturday.
BSF Director General Pankaj Kumar Singh said the force has recently set up a state-of-the-art laboratory in Delhi to study it. The results have been very encouraging. Security agencies can keep an eye on this illegal activity from across the border. Pankaj Kumar said that BSF has been facing the threat of drones for a long time.
BSF Director General Pankaj Kumar Singh further said that the state-of-the-art drones are creating problems for us as they have fallen into the hands of wrong people including terrorists. They enter inside the border by flying very stealthily at a sufficient height. He said the BSF detected around 79 drone flights along the international border in 2020, which increased to 109 last year and more than doubled to 266 this year.
