The blast took place at the Jamia Masjid in Peshawar's Qissa Khwani Bazaar area when the worshipers were offering Friday prayers. This is a Shia mosque which is present in a very busy area. A large number of people were present during the incident. So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the report of Pakistani newspaper 'Dan', the media manager of Lady Reading, Aseem Khan said that so far 30 bodies have been brought to the hospital. The condition of 10 people injured in the attack is said to be very critical. Due to this the number of injured is expected to increase further. According to a PTI report, police officer Peshawar Ejaz Ahsan said that two attackers tried to enter the mosque.
