Uttar Pradesh is ready to hand over power to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the second time in a row, breaking the nearly three-decade-old political tradition. Exit polls are showing a similar picture as soon as the polling for the seventh and last phase in Uttar Pradesh will be over on Monday itself.
According to the agencies whose exit polls have just come in Uttar Pradesh, BJP government seems to be formed again in Uttar Pradesh. After taking the average of all the exit polls, Yogi Adityanath will seen as the Chief Minister in UP.
The exit polls released after seven phases, the opposition bets did not work. All the survey agencies are giving majority to the BJP. On an average BJP was given around 250 seats out of 403.
Some polls also seemed to back up the BJP's claim to top 300. For now, this win will be huge by any measure as no government has won more in Uttar Pradesh for a long time. However, if the seats are reduced, the BJP may have to wonder why the support has now waned or the enthusiasm of the supporters has waned after the support received in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the elections to the 2017 assembly. In 2017, the BJP won 325 seats, including allies.
