The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann presented a resolution to protest against the implementation of the Central Services Act in Chandigarh. Along with this other proposals are also likely to be discussed. Rana Gurjit Singh and his son Rana Inder Pratap Singh took oath as MLAs at the beginning of the proceedings of the House. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan administered the oath of office to him.
After this, the discussion has started in the Vidhan Sabha regarding the Central Service Laws implemented in Chandigarh. The resolution to restore the earlier status in the Punjab Assembly session Chandigarh and BBMB was moved by the Chief Minister. In a special meeting of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha today, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has presented a proposal to restore the former status in Chandigarh UT Chandigarh and BBMB.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab was created anew during the Reorganization Act 1966, out of which Haryana and some part of Punjab were given to Himachal. While Chandigarh was established as UT, since then till now, the management of joint assets like BBMB was being carried out by keeping employees from Punjab and Haryana on a ratio basis.
