Bengaluru Father and Son Forge Site Documents, Obtain Mortgage Loans from Banks
The site was purchased by Rao three decades ago in Mallathahalli, Bengaluru North, and he pays tax to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike regularly.
Bengaluru Father and Son Forge Site Documents: They also mortgaged the sites and took loans using bogus records in the Jnanabharathi police station limits of Bengaluru, according to a police report.
On March 11, a site owner, Raghavendra Rajarao, 51, a computer professional from HMT Layout, reported to the Jnanabharathi police station one of the eight cases alleging that Shivanna (37), son of Veerabhadrappa (87), of Mallathahalli, had mortgaged his site with the State Bank of India (SBI).
The site was purchased by Rao three decades ago in Mallathahalli, Bengaluru North, and he pays tax to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike regularly. On his last visit to the site on February 22, he was surprised to see a possession notice posted by SBI.
The site had been registered on fake documents and a loan had been taken on it, he learned when he contacted SBI. According to the encumbrance certificate, one Achukuttan PA bought the site from Shivanna, whose father had given it to him.

It was alleged by Rao that BBMP officials and the SubRegistrar of Peenya were also involved in this conspiracy. Surprisingly, even bank officials failed to act on this illegal transaction. According to Rao, Shivanna also knocked off sites in the surrounding areas.
On the basis that they were innocent, both father and son sought anticipatory bail. According to the investigating officer, eight criminal cases had been filed against Shivanna and his father since 2012 on similar charges.
Lawyers for the accused, however, asserted that the accused had been granted bail in all cases, but had not filed documents supporting his claim.
The allegations against the accused are serious since they have collided with other accused to cheat the complainant, according to Shivakumara B, Judge of the 38th Additional City Civil and Sessions Court. In refusing anticipatory bail for both father and son, the judge said the investigation is still at a nascent stage and a custodial interrogation of the accused appears to be necessary.
