Ban on Diljit Dosanjh Lifted for Border 2 After Bhushan Kumar Plea | FWICE Controversy Explained
FWICE has lifted the ban on Diljit Dosanjh’s Border 2 and given the green signal for the shoot after producer Bhushan Kumar intervened.
Ban on Diljit Dosanjh Lifted for Border 2: FWICE has lifted the ban on Diljit Dosanjh’s Border 2 and given the green signal for the shoot after producer Bhushan Kumar intervened. However, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who is a part of FWICE, has warned that casting Diljit in future films will have “consequences”.
Reports were doing the rounds during the Sardaar Ji 3 controversy, where Diljit is paired opposite Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The controversy escalated after the film was released outside India on June 27, but not in India, given the current tension between India and Pakistan post the Pahalgam terror attack.
According to India Today, FWICE has given the green signal to Diljit for Border 2. FWICE president BN Tiwari said they took the decision after Bhushan Kumar met them personally and pleaded.
“Yes, the ban has been revoked for this project," BN Tiwari said. However, the decision comes with a warning. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who is also associated with FWICE, shared, “So, we have non-cooperation against Diljit continuing. Anyone else who casts him must be prepared for consequences. The Federation won’t be responsible for the financial losses that might follow.”
The video shared by Diljit gives a glimpse into his day on the sets of Border 2. It begins with him stepping out of his vanity van, dressed in his uniform, and then walking into the set as he prepares for a dance sequence. The recent video confirms he is still part of the film, which also stars Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, and Ahan Shetty. Sharing the video on Instagram, Diljit wrote, “BORDER 2”.
As soon as the video went viral, netizens started sharing their disappointment with the producers on X (formerly Twitter). Some even demanded a total boycott of the film since Diljit is very much a part of the cast despite being part of a Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.

A user said: "We have the choice to boycott Border 2 when it releases, and I will exercise that boycott for myself and my family. 4 tickets won't matter to the producer, but it matters to me."
"Diljit Dosanjh is seen shooting for Border 2. Why not boycott him? He needs to be boycotted in film, song, video, and any other form. In fact, he needs to be kicked out from India," a netizen wrote.
FWICE had written a letter to the makers of Border 2 earlier expressing their disappointment with the casting of Diljit Dosanjh in the film. In the letter addressed to Bhushan Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, T-Series, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta Producers, JP Films and director Anurag Singh, FWICE said they are “deeply disappointed” with the casting of Diljit.
