Amidst the announcement of BJP candidate for the post of Vice President, Mamta Banerjee called a meeting of MPs
Jagdeep Dhankhar, a lawyer by profession, entered politics in 1989 and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan in the same year and became a Union Minister in 1990.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress national president Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting of all MPs in Kolkata on July 21 to decide the party's strategy for the Vice Presidential elections and the monsoon session of Parliament. In this meeting, all the MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha of Trinamool Congress will participate, the meeting will be held on July 21 at 4:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the residence of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Jagdeep Dhankhar (West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar) became the Governor of West Bengal in July, 2019. Since then, Mamta has been in discussion for a constant confrontation with the government.
Dhankhar practiced law with the Rajasthan High Court in the Supreme Court. Dhankhar was designated a senior advocate in 1990, the same year he became a Union minister. He was also a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly representing Kishangarh constituency from 1993 to 1998. The lawyer-turned-politician was appointed as the Governor of West Bengal in July 2019 and has had a bad relationship with the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state since then. Dhankhar, however, has claimed that he is following the rule book and the Constitution by pointing out issues to the Mamata Banerjee government and the state legislature. A heated argument between Dhankhar and the TMC and its leader often leads to confrontations with each other blaming each other.
