Amanatullah Khan: Business partner of AAP MLA Amanatullah arrested, ACB seized Rs 12 lakh cash and weapons in raid

Delhi Police has arrested Hamid Ali, a close aide of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, after cash and arms worth Rs 12 lakh were recovered in an Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) raid. Officials gave this information on Saturday.
The ACB on Friday raided four premises and arrested Khan, its chairman, in connection with alleged irregularities in recruitment in the Delhi Waqf Board. Ali's property was also included in the places where the ACB had raided. According to officials, they recovered an unlicensed weapon, cash worth Rs 12 lakh and some cartridges from Ali's premises. Ali, a resident of Jamia Nagar, has been arrested by the South East Police under the Arms Act.
Police said on Friday that following the ACB raids, three FIRs have been registered, out of which one case has been registered against 54-year-old Ali, in connection with the recovery of an unlicensed weapon and some cartridges. A senior police officer said that Ali has been arrested in this case. The second case has been registered against Kaushar Imam Siddiqui, a resident of Jogabai Extension, under the Arms Act.
A country-made pistol and three live cartridges were recovered from Siddiqui's premises, the official said. He said he was yet to be arrested. During the raid, the ACB had seized a total of Rs 24 lakh in cash and two unlicensed arms. Earlier, the ACB had summoned Amanatullah Khan in a case related to alleged financial misappropriation and other irregularities in the functioning of the Delhi Waqf Board. An FIR has already been registered in connection with the alleged malpractices in the board.
