Alia Bhatt Adjusted Her Tone After Marriage for Me, Says Ranbir Kapoor

In Nikhil Kamath's podcast People by WTF, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about his relationship with Alia. He acknowledged her for the efforts she put in for their relationship and said he hasn't yet done anything for the sake of the relationship but he knows that a relationship works when you give up some traits of your personality which may affect the bond.

Ranbir said when she met her she knew she was a special person and that he was married to his best friend, and he could talk about anything and he got really with that. He also acknowledged their 11-year age gap and laughed it off. He added to the conversation that He has immense respect for her as an Artist, mother, daughter, and person. He said he loves to be with her, to go back home to see her, and go on vacations with her.

He said “She used to speak in a very loud tone. I think my father’s (Rishi Kapoor) tone, growing up, always rattled me. So she really made efforts to change that. And that’s not easy when you’ve lived 30 years of your life speaking in a certain way. She’s someone who instinctively reacts to say, if Raha falls down. There’s a reaction that throws me off. She makes certain things to put me at ease. I hope I could say there’s something I did to put her at ease, but I don’t think I’ve done it yet,”.

He recalled the arguments and fights between his parents that used to happen too often when he was a kid and said that the high pitch of his father's voice intimidated him and he still has the effects of it.

“You have to let go of your personality. She’s let go of her personality,”

“We’re adjusting to each other to make it liveable for each other. Any marriage is doing that. You have to let go, you have to adjust, you have to sacrifice facets of it. It’s impossible for two people to like each other the way they are,”
