After Indigo, GoFirst technical staff also went on leave, protesting against low wages

Several technical staff maintaining aircraft of airline GoFirst have gone on leave during the last three days citing health reasons in protest against low wages. Sources gave this information on Tuesday.

Earlier, similarly many employees of IndiGo had also gone on leave due to health reasons. After this, the airline has started disciplinary action against the employees who take such leave.

Sources said that some technical staff of GoFirst, who had gone on sick leave during the last three days, have written an e-mail to the airline's management asking them to increase their salary. GoFirst has not yet commented on the matter. Significantly, many domestic airlines had cut salaries of a large section of employees during the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic.
