It had been more than a year, the farmers on the borders of Delhi were adamant about their demands. In every way, the central government accepted their demand amidst the weather, noura-wrestling with the police administration. Now a batch of farmers are happily returning to their homes from Delhi's Singhu border, Ghazipur border and Tikri border. The farmer leaders said they would meet again on January 15 to see if the government had met their demands. Farmers lifted blockades on highways at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders to meet their demands, including repeal of three controversial agricultural laws and setting up a committee for legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. A 'Victory March' was taken out to celebrate the Centre's written assurance.
After a successful agitation, sentiments began to rise with enthusiasm as farmers left for their homes in various states including Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Tractors decorated with colorful lights started coming out of the protest sites singing victory songs and elderly people wearing colorful turbans were seen dancing with the youth.
