After 7:30 p.m., women can hail, board state RTC buses anywhere: TSRTC
The purpose is to empower safe nighttime bus travel for women, as per the statement issued. If the drivers or conductors violate the rules, passengers can call the depot manager and file a complaint, TSRTC added.
To safeguard the safety of female passengers in the city, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) directed all bus drivers and conductors to stop the bus wherever after 7:30 p.m. at the request of women.
According to a TSRTC statement, this hail and board service, which may be used to stop or get off buses that are not necessarily at bus stops, was launched with the goal of offering improved facilities to passengers and safe bus travel for ladies at night.
All depot managers, bus conductors, and drivers have received orders in this regard. If a bus driver or conductor does not follow the guidelines, passengers can call the depot manager and file a complaint, according to TSRTC.
It added that if a female passenger has a problem, she can complain to depot supervisors, who will conduct a thorough investigation. TSRTC also recommended female travellers use this service in order to enjoy a safer journey.
Hyderabad RTC Regional Manager Ch Venkanna stated, "nowadays, women are increasingly travelling to various places for work and must occasionally rely on private transportation, which might be unsafe at times. As a result, RTC has begun this service in 17 bus terminals to ensure that they return home safely from their place of employment."
Furthermore, all drivers and conductors have been given strict instructions to implement this service, he noted.
"The TSRTC's initiative is commendable. It will be beneficial for female travellers, and she has stated that she will try to use this service" said a passenger.
RTC Bus Conductor Suganda stated that they will ensure that this service is executed and that it will benefit ladies like her who travel for work.
According to Telangana Mazdoor Union General Secretary Thomas Reddy, women experience a lot of difficulties when commuting to work and returning home, and this service will make their travelling safer and faster.
