The news has gone viral on the internet and has created commotion and confusion among people.
However, an official notice from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that the news is fake and there is no such claim that the Aadhaar card won’t work after June 14 if people don’t update it.
According to the reports, such fake news arose because recently Aadhaar card updating details deadline was extended from 14 March to June 14 which led to the start of such rumours.
News 18 reported, people will be charged no money if they update their credit cards online and if they update their credit cards by visiting Seva Kendra then some amount of money will be charged to them.
Updating your Aaadhar card details is very crucial as your Aaadhar card is a legal identity that defines you as an Indian citizen.
Aaadhar is usually used in much official work and keeping personal details such as Photos, biometrics, numbers, and addresses updated will provide a smooth verification process.
Also, keeping your card updated prevents to creation of any duplicate IDs by scammers.

How should you update your Aaadhar Card Details Online?
To update your UIDAI Aaadhar Card details, follow the steps below:
- First, visit the official website of UIDAI, https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/
- Search for the ‘Login’ section, enter your Aaadhar card number, and fill in the Captcha.
- Then it will ask you to put in the OTP on the registered mobile number linked to your card.
- After entering the OTP click on Update Aadhaar Online section.
- After you are done with it, then click on proceed and select the details which you want to update.
- After putting in the details, the name that is already on your UID card will show up on the screen.
- Confirm the changes and click on submit, your Aaadhar card will be updated.
- You will get a new Aadhar card a few weeks after updating your card by Post office.
