A total loan of Rs 18.60 lakh crore given from PM Mudra Yojana
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana , more than 34.42 crore loan accounts have been opened in 7 years for a total amount of Rs 18.60 lakh crore.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana , more than 34.42 crore loan accounts have been opened in 7 years for a total amount of Rs 18.60 lakh crore. Let us inform that the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana was started with the goal of financial inclusion. It has been 7 years since the scheme started. PMMY was launched by PM Modi on April 8, 2015. It aims to provide credit facilities up to Rs 10 lakh to non-corporate and non-farm small/micro enterprises.
On the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the scheme, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “More than 34.42 crore loan accounts have been opened under this scheme for a total amount of Rs 18.60 lakh crore for creating income generating activities.” The Finance Minister said that the scheme has helped in creating an enabling environment especially for small businesses. He said that it has created massive employment opportunities at the grassroots level.
The Finance Minister said that 68 percent more loan accounts have been sanctioned for women and 22 percent loans have been given to new entrepreneurs who had not taken loans since the launch of the scheme. "Of the total loans sanctioned so far, 51 per cent loans have been given to the SC/ST/OBC category community," Sitharaman said.
