33 cases of Omicron in the country: 2nd case of Omicron in Delhi, 3 year old girl infected in Maharashtra; Section 144 imposed in Mumbai

A new case of Omicron was found in Delhi on Saturday. With this, the number of patients infected with the new variant of corona in the country has increased to 33. Here, Omicron infection was found in 7 new people in Maharashtra on Friday. Of these, 3 are from Mumbai. At the same time, 4 new Omicrons have been found infected in Pimpri Chinchwad district adjoining Pune. Omicron infection has also been found in a 3-year-old girl here.

It has been learned about the girl that she had come in contact with an Omicron infected woman from Nigeria. At present, the condition of the child is normal and she has minor symptoms. The girl, along with her mother and some other infected family members, has been kept in the special covid ward of Jijamata Hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad. Earlier, 6 people of the same family were infected with Omicron. In which the woman's brother and her two daughters were involved. Genome sequencing of 22 corona infected patients who came in contact with the woman was done.

Maharashtra has the highest number of 'Omicron' infected patients in the country. Now the number of 'Omicron' infected in the state has increased to 17. Genome sequencing reports of more than 30 suspected patients are yet to come. In view of the increasing risk of infection in Mumbai, Section 144 has been imposed for the next two days.

In view of the increasing threat of 'Omicron' in Mumbai, 144 have been imposed in the entire city on Saturday and Sunday. During this time there will be a ban on large gatherings, rallies and protest marches. The order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) will start from Saturday and continue till 6 am on Monday.
