31 students were found corona positive in Bengaluru, health department issued instructions to schools and colleges
A total of 17,960 Covid tests were conducted till Tuesday evening. There are 19 containment zones in Mahadevapura, 4 in Yelahanka and 2 in Dasarahalli.
In Karnataka's capital Bengaluru, 31 students have been found corona positive. The total number of cases has now increased to 582. The State Health Department has asked schools and colleges to ensure precautionary measures in the backdrop of rising cases of COVID-19. 21 students studying in Class 6 of New Standard English School and 10 students of MES School studying in Class 5 have been found infected with Corona. The positivity rate has increased from 2.69 percent to 2.83 percent.
The information about the students being infected with corona came to light when their Covid test was done during vaccination. Both the schools New Standard English School and MES School have been sanitized. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has also directed to initiate precautionary measures and maintain the COVID protocol in schools and colleges in Bengaluru.
Educational institutions have been asked to conduct mandatory thermal scanning at the time of admission of teachers, students and staff. If anyone is found to have symptoms of corona, they should be isolated and tested for COVID-19. Officials have been asked to confirm whether staff members have received two doses of vaccination and a booster dose.
On Monday, less than 500 Covid cases were reported in Bengaluru. Bengaluru has 3,738 active cases and only 28 patients are being treated in hospitals. 3 out of 28 persons are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). According to the data provided by the health department, the rest have been put in isolation and are being treated at their residence.
