A loud sound, likely of shelling, was heard in Jaisalmer on Thursday, police sources said. A top officer confirmed that a sound was heard in Jaisalmer.
The Indian strikes focused on areas from where attacks against India were reportedly being planned and directed. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the operation was focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature.

This comes amid reports that Pakistan launched a barrage of artillery fire, drone, and missile attacks on multiple locations in the country simultaneously. There are also reports of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC).
In Jammu, around a dozen locations, including the civil airport and an airstrip, were targeted by artillery fire, drone, and missile attacks from the Pakistani side.
According to security agencies, eight missiles were launched from Pakistan, aiming at the Jammu civil airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, Akhnoor, and surrounding areas. All incoming threats were successfully intercepted by the S-400 air defence system.
In Punjab, a blackout was enforced in the Pathankot and Amritsar districts following reports of a loud noise heard near the Pathankot airbase.

Additionally, reports have emerged of artillery shelling in Kupwara and Udhampur, as well as shelling aimed at the airbase in Pathankot. Several nearby areas were also targeted in the attack.
Tensions have spiralled after Indian armed forces early Wednesday carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke, in retaliation for the terror attack in Pahalgam.
Rajasthan, which shares a 1,037-km border with Pakistan, is on high alert. The border has been completely sealed and Border Security Force personnel have been given shoot-on-sight orders if they spot any suspicious activity. Authorities in Rajasthan have also restricted movement near the border for those who don't live there.
