65,158 new covid cases in the country in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 65,158 cases of corona infection have been found in the country. There has been a decline of more than 6 thousand in cases of corona infection as compared to Tuesday. On Tuesday, 71,365 new cases of infection were reported. Compared to the peak of the third wave, there has been a decline of 81% in daily cases. On January 20, 3,47,254 cases were reported, which has now come down to only 65 thousand.

On Wednesday, 1.67 lakh patients were cured and 1,238 corona infected died. Since the beginning of the epidemic in the country, a total of 4.24 crore people have come under the grip of infection. At present, 7.81 lakh people are getting treatment for corona.

A Kerala doctor has claimed in his new report that hybrid immunity has been effective in preventing the spread of the Omicron variant. Dr. Padmanabha Shenoy, Medical Director, Care Hospital, Kochi, said that the effect of hybrid immunity in preventing infection of Omicron has been more than 2 doses of corona vaccine. People who have been cured of corona infection get antibodies equal to both doses of the vaccine. This is called hybrid immunity.
