The Center has directed for strict screening at airport-ports, so that patients of monkeypox can be identified and treated in time. At the same time, they can prevent the disease occurring in others. At the same time, the health department of the state has increased surveillance at all the five airports of the state. The minister said that the youth, a resident of Kannur, is undergoing treatment at Pariyaram Medical College. A high level multi-disciplinary team was sent to Kerala.
After two monkeypox patients were found in Kerala, the state health department has increased surveillance at all five airports in the state from Sunday. People coming from abroad are being screened. The first case of monkeypox in the country was from Kerala. A 35-year-old man from Kollam district, who came from a country in the Middle East, tested positive for monkeypox and was admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
