All SpiceJet flights should be closed, PIL filed in Delhi High Court amidst continuous malfunction

A petition (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court demanding that all SpiceJet flights be stopped between one failure after another. It has also been said in the petition (PIL) that flights should be stopped so that there are no major incidents, where there can be a great loss of life and property. The petition further states that SpiceJet has failed to provide safe, efficient, and reliable air service. This petition (PIL) has been filed by advocate Rahul Bhardwaj.

Expressing concern over this, the petition has also sought a direction to pay fair compensation to those passengers who faced the dreadful situation during the lapses. He had faced the fear of death. Advocate Rahul Bhardwaj and his four-year-old son have filed a petition seeking direction from civil aviation, DGCA, and others to constitute a special fast-track commission to decide whether to stop SpiceJet's operations till then.

On Sunday, IndiGo's Pilots noticed a defect in one of their flights and as a precautionary measure, the Sharjah-Hyderabad flight had to be diverted to Karachi. Just a day before, Saturday night, Air India Express's Calicut-Dubai flight was diverted to Muscat after pilots observed a burning smell, mid-air. Another case of an alive bird was also found in the cockpit of the Air India Express Bahrain-Kochi flight. Owing to such incidences, the petition has been filed.
