Tell your friends to Pull-Up people, we're binge-watching Gangubai, again

It wasn’t long before we were all hymning the melody of “Meri Jaan, Meri Jaan, Meri Jaan,”, stepping outside the theaters praising the creative alchemy of Sanjay Leela Bhansali for showing us the story of Gangubai, who becomes a madame in the Red Light Area of Kamathipura, and the acting brilliance of Alia Bhatt for draping the character on her like a custom-made ensemble. Now the fans can rejuvenate the magic at their convenience as the Alia Bhatt, Shantanu Maheshwari starred movie is set to stream on Netflix from the 26th of April, 2022.
The movie was a record-bearer when it became the second-highest-grossing Bollywood movie after Sooryavanshi for a post-pandemic release. Eight weeks after the movie was a hit in the theaters, the filmmakers have decided to herald this movie on the OTT Platform as well. The maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, quoted, “While the film has encouraged audiences to come back to the theaters, I am elated that the film will now reach an even wider audience within India and around the world with Netflix.”
Monika Shergill, the Vice President-Content, of Netflix India said, "Films are a favorite form of entertainment in India and we want to be the destination for best-in-class cinema that our members can watch with friends and family on Netflix. As we expand our film slate of original and licensed films, we are thrilled that the iconic film, Gangubai Kathiawadi will soon stream on Netflix. Made with tremendous love by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and packed with powerful and memorable performances by Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, and many others, we hope that our members will enjoy this masterpiece."
The film managed to garner a whopping 130 Crores at the Box Office, heralding the “Period-Drama” a massive hit. Will the movie serve as a major finance influx for the OTT Giant, only time will tell, but for now, we’re ready with our Popcorns, and Tissues, to binge-watch it again. The screening of the movie was attended by the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actress Alia Bhatt, Legendary Rekha Jee, and Bollywood Icon, Deepika Padukone, who donned the event in a classic White-Saree laden with ivory floral lace.
