Alia Bhatt Selflessly Defended Child Actor: The film Gangubai Kathiawadi co-star Seema Pahwa in a recent interview shared that her perspective on the film’s actress Alia Bhatt totally changed when she helped a child artist during a tough scene when the director was getting frustrated.

In a recent chat with Hindi Rush, Seema Pahwa said, “Back in my mind I was anticipating, ‘she is a new girl and from a film family, I wonder how she would be as a person.’ But, I was surprised. She treated me with a lot of respect. Maybe because Sanjay introduced me to her as a senior actor. But, one incident on set changed my perspective about her.”

Seema Pahwa while recalling a young girl who was falling asleep and missed a few of her lines during a late-night scene, which made Sanjay Leela Bhansali frustrated, she said, “There was a scene with a young girl, who was pretending to be asleep and then had to say one dialogue. They were shooting for that one scene for a long time. It was about 3 in the morning. The child was sleepy. So, every time she went to the bed, she would actually fall asleep and miss her dialogue. This made Sanjay furious and irritated. He was yelling, ‘why is she falling asleep every time?’ It was at this time that Alia Bhatt came to her rescue. I saw it myself. She instructed the child artist that ‘when I will pull your arm, you say your dialogue.’ It was a selfless gesture, it impressed me.”

The film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhat was released on 25 February 2022 and was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali received positive and huge acclaim from its fans.

Gangubai Kathiawadi got a good response from critics for its theme, direction, production value, and Alia Bhatt's acting. The film earned Rs 209.25 crore worldwide.

The film also features Shantanu Maheshwari, Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz and many others.
