New Delhi. Alert has been issued in many states along the coast regarding Cyclone Jawad. Following the warnings of the Meteorological Department, fishermen have been denied access to the sea. The administration is monitoring the activities in the border districts every moment. After the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDRF team has been deployed to take the relief and rescue work on a war footing in these states.
On Saturday morning, information has been given by the Indian Meteorological Department that cyclonic storm Jawad is about 230 km southeast of Visakhapatnam in west-central Bay of Bengal, 340 km south of Gopalpur, 410 km south-southwest of Puri and from Paradip. Centered 490 km south-southwest.
In view of Cyclone Jawad, 11 NDRF, 5 SDRF, 6 Coast Guard, 10 Marine Police teams have been deployed in three districts of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam. So far 54,008 people have been evacuated from low-lying areas of these districts.
