Akhilesh Yadav will contest for the first time in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022

Akhilesh Yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and President of Samajwadi Party (SP), will contest for the first time in the assembly elections. Speaking to a SP source said that Akhilesh Yadav will contest the elections. There was a lot of discussion in the party about this matter, after which this decision has been taken. However, from which seat he will contest, the discussion is still going on.

Samajwadi Party is emerging as the biggest rival in the 2022 assembly elections. 11 leaders, including three BJP ministers, have recently joined the Samajwadi Party.

Yogi Adityanath, the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will contest the electoral from his stronghold Gorakhpur. There were speculations about him contesting from Ayodhya or Mathura, but the party has fielded him from Gorakhpur.
