Ajit Doval said, police have a big role in border security too
Ajit Doval said that the sovereignty of India extends from the coastal areas to the border areas to the jurisdiction of the last police station.

Ajit Doval on Friday said that besides maintaining law and order, police forces have a major role in managing India's over 15,000-km-long border with countries like Pakistan, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh. He said that the number of police force in the country is 21 lakh and so far 35,480 personnel have made sacrifices. Doval said, "We would also like to remember the 40 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers who were martyred."
Doval said that it is the responsibility of the police forces to maintain law and order in every part of India's 32 lakh square kilometer area. He said, “Not only that policing in which you guys have been well trained but it will also expand. You will also be responsible for the border management of this country.
