Agnipath Scheme : Only 3 thousand Agniveers can be recruited every year in forces like CRPF, BSF, what about the remaining 35 Thousand?

The fire of protest against the Agneepath scheme has spread to 11 states. The biggest displeasure of the protesters is about being retired in 4 years. In view of the outrage, on Saturday morning, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced 10% reservation for Agniveers in CAPF recruitment. By evening, the Defense Ministry also announced 10% reservation.

Under the new scheme of recruitment in the army 'Agneepath Scheme', 45-50 thousand are to be recruited every year. The first batch of Agniveers will be recruited in the army in 2023. After 4 years i.e. in 2027, 25% i.e. about 10-12 thousand Agniveers will get permanent appointment in the army whereas 75% i.e. about 35-37.5 thousand jawans will retire. This means that from 2027 onwards, about the same number of Agniveers will be retiring every year.

About 50 thousand Agniveers are to be recruited every year. On this basis, we will calculate the jobs available to Agniveers on the basis of 10% reservation given by the Ministry of Home and Defense.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced to give 10% reservation in the recruitment of Central Armed Police Force i.e. CAPF and Assam Rifles. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense has announced to give 10% reservation in the recruitment of 16 Public Sector Undertakings related to Defense Sector along with Indian Coast Guard, Defense Civilian Posts.

A total of 1,13,219 recruitments were made in the Central Armed Police Forces i.e. CAPF during the 4 years 2017-2020 i.e. 28,304 on an average every year.

If we look at the recruitments made in CAPF during the last 4 years, then there have been about 28 thousand recruitments annually. It has been announced to give 10% reservation to Agniveers in CAPF. That is, on this basis, about 2800 Agniveers will get jobs in CAPF in a year.
