He breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, adjacent to Delhi. He was undergoing treatment at Medanta for the past several days and was in critical condition. Mulayam Singh Yadav was 82 years old and was on life support system in Medanta's ICU. When Mulayam's 7th health bulletin was issued on Sunday afternoon. Even then the condition of Mulayam Singh Yadav was critical. He was on life saving drugs and on ventilator in ICU.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of Mulayam Singh. He tweeted, "The passing away of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji is extremely sad. His death marks the end of a major pillar of socialism and a struggling era. May God bless the departed soul and the bereaved family." And my condolences to the supporters."
Mulayam Singh Yadav, apart from being the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three times,he was also the Defense Minister of the country. His son Akhilesh Yadav has also been the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on 22 November 1939 in a farmer family in Saifai village of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. At that time the country was under British rule and Uttar Pradesh was known as United Provinces.
