After talks with the Haryana government, the farmers agreed to leave the highway, there was a jam for 21 hours

Farmers had blocked the highway number 44 near Kurukshetra in Haryana, protesting against the demand for early purchase of paddy. However, the Haryana government has accepted their demand, after which the farmers have agreed to move away from the highway. After pulling up the Punjab and Haryana High Court over law and order, the government held talks with the farmers. Traffic was disrupted for about 21 hours due to the highway block.

He said that the government has increased the procurement limit from 22 to 30 quintals per acre in five districts where the yield has increased. He said that in many other districts it has been increased to 28 quintal per acre. The court had told the Haryana government that the highway should be opened immediately, so that people do not face any kind of problem.
In the midnight hearing, the Punjab and Haryana High Court said that the district administration should have taken immediate steps to prevent the situation. The court also advised the state to exercise caution while directing the state to prevent further deterioration of law and order. The court had said, 'Recourse to use of force should be the last option. And that too until the administration has no other way.
Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria said all diversions have been removed and traffic has started now. He said that we have resolved the matter amicably with the farmers.
