Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Aero India 2023 on Monday at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru. Rehearsals took place on Saturday for the show to be held in Bengaluru from February 13 to 17. The main objective of the event is to showcase the products and technology manufactured in the country and to promote partnership with foreign companies. During this, along with the indigenous unmanned vehicle Tapas, the work being done in the field of defence, space will be displayed.
The air show will promote exports of indigenous air platforms such as Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter, Light Combat Helicopter and Advanced Light Helicopter. The program will also help in connecting domestic MSMEs and startups with global supply chains and attract foreign investment. More than 80 countries will participate in Aero India. Swedish company Saab, associated with the space and defense sector, will also participate in Aero India. It will set up a manufacturing unit in India for Carl-Gustaf recoilless rifles.
