Actor Siddhartha slammed all across social media for his sexist remarks against Saina Nehwal

Recently, star badminton player Saina Nehwal tweeted regarding the security breach that happened to PM Modi during his visit to Punjab. She wrote, "No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists." The star who got laurels for the country in an unparalleled way, was greeted by sexist, misogynistic and vulgar remarks across Twitter.

To this, actor Siddharth had replied, "Subtle cock champion of the world... Thank God we have protectors of India. Folded hands. Shame on you Rihanna." After being slammed for his sexist remarks, the actor wrote an apology on Twitter mentioning that his choice of words was derogatory. He also mentioned that he was a feminist ally and the tone and the humour was completely inappropriate.

Various ministers came in support of Saina, including the Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju who tweeted, "India is proud of @NSaina for her outstanding contributions in making India a sporting powerhouse. She is a steadfast patriot besides being an Olympic medalist ???????? Making a cheap comment on such an icon personality depics a person's ignoble mentality."
