Actor Sahil Khan Arrested in Mahadev Betting App Case: Sahil Khan has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for alleged involvement in the Mahadev betting app case.
After his interim bail petition was rejected by the Bombay High Court, Sahil Khan was arrested in Chhattisgarh by the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of Mumbai Police Cyber Cell.
Following a crackdown on various betting and gaming apps by different agencies, several other Bollywood celebrities were investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
On Saturday, Sahil Khan was detained from Chhattisgarh's Jagdalpur after his pre-arrest bail application was rejected by the Bombay high court.
According to the court, Sahil Khan was "directly involved with an online betting application". He was grilled in connection with the case by the SIT earlier this week for over four hours.
After the high court rejected Mr Khan's plea, sources say he fled Mumbai and was on the run.

Chhattisgarh Police arrested the actor after over 40 hours of operation.
He was remanded to four days police custody after being brought to Mumbai this morning from Chhattisgarh.
A social media influencer, Sahil Khan has worked in films such as "Style" and "Excuse Me".
The SIT is investigating alleged illegal transactions between certain financial and real estate firms in Chhattisgarh and the promoters of the controversial Mahadev betting app.
A cyber cell within the Mumbai Police is investigating charges against 32 people, including Sahil Khan. The cyber cell is also checking Sahil Khan's bank accounts, mobile phones, laptops, and other technical equipment.
Tamannaah Bhatia was summoned earlier this week for promoting a Mahadev subsidiary app.
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were summoned for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last year for their involvement in the Mahadev betting app.

Mahadev App: An overview
According to reports, the company, promoted by Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, offers online platforms for alleged illegal betting on sports such as cricket, tennis, badminton, poker, and card games.
Using a layered web of Benami bank accounts, the online application enrolled new users and allegedly laundered money. Games, lotteries and betting options allegedly were rigged so that the 'players' always lost money, while the company won.
Through the scam, Chandrakar's company allegedly gained around Rs 5,000 crore.
Mahadev Online Book App is run from a central office in the UAE, according to the Enforcement Directorate investigation.
