Fights Misleading Info on Google: The Delhi High Court on Monday issued a notice to search engine giant Google after Aaradhya Bachchan, the daughter of actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, filed a fresh plea seeking the removal of misleading information about her health from several websites.
The 13-year-old requested a summary judgment in her case concerning the circulation of misleading information. A summary judgment allows courts to resolve civil cases quickly without requiring oral evidence.
Justice Mini Pushkarna issued notice on Monday, posting the matter next for consideration on March 17. The issuance of the notice comes after the nine YouTube channels failed to file their replies in response to Aaradhya’s petition.

In her petition, Aaradhya alleged the circulation of misleading information about her physical and mental well-being and morphed images by the media platforms.
In April 2023, Aaradhya Bachchan, through her father, approached the court against videos being circulated on YouTube with fake information on her health.
The High Court then passed an interim order and issued directions, including restraining the circulation of YouTube videos with misleading information about the health of Aaradhya Bachchan, who is also the granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, also actors.

The court had previously instructed Google to disclose details of the entities responsible for uploading such content and mandated that any future misleading videos be promptly flagged for removal. Additionally, the central government was directed to restrict access to such material, while Google was reminded of its legal responsibility to adhere to the regulatory framework.
The court’s ruling will be closely watched by legal experts, social media companies, and content creators, as it could influence future regulations on digital content moderation and privacy protection.
