AAP Challenges BJP on Entry to CM Residence With Media
This comes after AAP MP Sanjay Singh challenged BJP on Tuesday to come along with the media personnel to visit CM House, after the BJP alleged it made various accusations against AAP regarding public money misused in the construction of a luxurious residence for Kejriwal, then the CM of Delhi.
BJP has alleged that Arvind Kejriwal has illegally spent huge sums more than Rs. 40 crores on renovations of the Chief Minister's official residence - allegations that the AAP has vehemently rejected. AAP dared BJP to visit the residence and prove their claims of overspending.
Then, AAP leader announced that they would visit the Civil Lines bungalow with media to settle the issue and will then return to prime minister's residence, at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, to show how the residence had been renovated.
Entry Denied To AAP Leaders At Delhi-CM Residence
As Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and MP Sanjay Singh approached the house, they were involved in a heated debate with police personnel stationed outside it after being denied entrance to the house.
“I’m an MP, he is a minister, and you’re stopping us? Under which law are you stopping us?" Singh is heard asking the police personnel.
The letter has also asked the police not to let anyone be allowed into the premises, be it through AAP leaders or any other means, according to Delhi Police sources.
