A couple of 33 and 35 welcome their first grandchild and say people think the baby is ours

Jenni Medlam and Richard may soon be officially announced as UK’s youngest grandparents after the arrival of their first grandchild. She is now 34 and her husband is 35. They two became grandparents when their 16-year-old daughter, Charmaine gave birth to baby Isla- May in June.

This began when Charmaine was born to Jenni when she was just 17 years old but Jenni’s previous relationship with her partner did not work as she felt she never got the support she wanted. Charmaine was 5 when Jenni met Richard who decided to bring her daughter up as his own. She told her parents last year she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend of two years. The parents decided to support her rather than being angry.
