Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-west) Gaurav Sharma said that a lady recorded a complaint that she requested an attire from Ludhiana and it was to be conveyed through DTDC messenger, however the conveyance got postponed.
"She began looking for the DTDC dispatch site on the web. She tracked down a page (phishing website page), where she filled in her details. These details were gotten to by the fraudster at the backend. Afterward, he settled on decisions to her and her significant other acting like a specialist from the messenger administration," the DCP said.
The blamed let them know that their messenger was adhered because of a specialized error and they needed to pay Rs 5 as expense. From there on, the charged sent them a malignant connection. Subsequent to clicking that connection, a structure sprung up. The lady filled in her ledger number and UPI PIN, which was gotten to from the backend by the fraudster.
From that point, Verma made transactions amounting up to Rs 75, 000.During the investigation, a team under the supervision of ACP (operations) Abhinendra Jain led by inspector Raman Kumar caught the accused from Shahdara.
