The MDA told AFP at the scene that a total of 10 people were killed, including a 70-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy. According to media reports, the attack took place a day after nine people were killed by Israeli soldiers in Palestine's West Bank. Police say that this incident is a 'terrorist attack'. Police said the terrorists arrived in a car near a building used as a place of worship in the northern part of East Jerusalem and opened fire.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant indicated on Friday that the army would end its airstrikes if Palestinian militant groups stopped rocket attacks. In view of the aggressive attitude of both the sides, there is a possibility of further deterioration of the situation. Anticipation hung over Jerusalem on Friday morning after rocket attacks by Palestinian fighters in Gaza and retaliatory airstrikes by Israel. The Israeli Defense Minister instructed the army to prepare for new attacks in the Gaza Strip if necessary.
