60 Booked in Agra After Flesh Found at Jama Masjid: Saturday reports say that police have booked around 60 protesters for the confrontation held outside the Jama Masjid here after the recovery of animal flesh from the mosque premises.
The protest took place after Friday prayers when the demonstrators sought strict punishment against one who placed the flesh in the mosque area.

The incident occurred late Thursday night when an individual named Nazruddin allegedly placed an alleged packet containing animal flesh inside Jama Masjid, located in the Mantola area; this came to light on Friday morning and stoked tension in the locality in view of the weekly Friday prayers.
CCTV footage, police said, showed the accused arriving at the mosque on a scooty, depositing the packet inside the premises, and leaving.
An investigation team of over 100 police personnel was constituted for the purpose of inquiry and area security. The meat was seized and sent for forensic examination, they added.
Investigating the case, the police located the scooty used for the crime at a local meat shop. The interrogation of the shopkeeper led to the arrest of Nazruddin from Teela Nandram area, the police said.
Arrest Sunday; efforts are being put in to know if he acted alone or he had accomplices, adds DCP.

Action will be taken under the National Security Act, NSA, said Additional Police Commissioner, Sanjeev Tyagi.
There was also a group of people gathered outside the mosque, after Friday prayers, demanding capital punishment for the accused. Eventually, the situation became volatile and the police had to use slight force to disperse them, he added.
Security was stepped up at Jama Masjid and its periphery, while police patrols intensified to avert any disorder in the area.
The authorities have appealed to the residents to maintain peace and refrain from sharing or acting on the rumors.
